Cruise Plans Restored & A Grateful Client

|

Some cases remind us why persistence and care matter. Edward’s recent criminal defense testimonial does exactly that.

“Mr. McCurdy and his staff, Bonnie and Stacy, are the best. They handled my case professionally and with the utmost care and were very friendly and kept me up to date, and I am very happy with the outcome and I would highly recommend him and his staff to anybody that needs an awesome attorney and staff, and I thank you all sincerely."

A 40-Year-Old Issue Comes Back to Life

This case did not begin with a new arrest or recent charge. It started when Edward planned an extended cruise and applied for U.S. Global Entry. His application was denied because records showed an alleged Maryland warrant tied to a traffic matter that the State of Maryland could not locate.

The situation went back decades. As T. Wray McCurdy, P.A. put it, “Sometimes the wheels of justice are very hard to see move; this case took 40 years to resolve.”

Digging Into the Past for a Present-Day Freedom

Instead of accepting that the warrant could not be found, our team at T. Wray McCurdy, P.A. went to work. They searched archives and the District Court for any trace of the old file. Eventually, they located paper records in a box of uncatalogued documents, records the electronic system never cleared.

Once the court revived the file, the judge quashed the decades-old warrant, excused Edward from traveling back to Maryland, and the case was dismissed. That opened the door for him to move forward with his travel plans. Bon voyage, indeed.
