Bio

Andy Belt truly believes that everyone is entitled to a strong defense, because bad things do really happen to good people. As a former History and English teacher in the Baltimore County School System, Andy has a patient, calm demeanor, but, he isn’t afraid to stand up for his clients in matters of civil and business litigation. He works hard to see a successful outcome.

After graduating from University of Baltimore Law School, Andy immediately started his career as a Baltimore County Assistant States Attorney. He followed that with insurance defense work at Semmes, Bowen & Semms and Moore & Jackson before beginning his solo law practice, where he focused primarily on civil litigation, business law and criminal defense. He has been working with T. Wray McCurdy, P.A. since early 2014.

In 2006, Andy was the Democratic nominee for the Maryland House of Delegates, 42nd District. In 2008, he was nominated to the Baltimore County Board of Appeals as an administrative law judge, where he still presides today over Baltimore County zoning, code enforcement and County employee benefit matters.

In addition to practicing civil and business law, Andy continues to teach. He is as an adjunct professor at Towson University and Baltimore County Community College, where he teaches Communication in the Legal Process. Andy has two sons and is a veteran musician in the Baltimore music scene.
